I’m wrapping up a two week jaunt around Europe which led me to now having visited 98 countries. Where should I go for my 99th and 100th? More on my travels below.

WORK WITH ME
In addition to traditional journalism, I’m also available for paid social media collaborations that align with my areas of expertise. I have a community of 21,000 followers across Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook who are interested in travel, sustainability, veganism, women's health, and more.
I’m also taking on more speaking gigs — I’ve given keynote speeches on inclusive LGBTQ+ travel and inclusive terms for the Latine population. I’m also available to speak with PR teams about media relationships, brand development, how to spin exclusive angles for your clients to land coverage, etc.
I offer consulting services to PR professionals, brands, and writers. I bring unique skills to the media industry, having worked in New York City as a publicist for seven years and as a freelance journalist for eight years. I deeply understand the inner workings of relationships between PR/brands and writers/publications.
Consultations for brands and publicists include insights on best practices for pitching journalists, how to foster relationships with journalists, media training, and more. I'm also available for hire to pen marketing materials such as press releases, media alerts, website copywriting, blog and social media content, and more.
For writers, my consultations include workshopping pitches and for writers to pick my brain about the industry. Writers who book consultations are added to my exclusive Facebook group, where I share editors' calls for pitches and provide access to an editorial database of over 3,000 editor contacts. MONTHLY STATS
In June I wrote five articles (about 4,000 words). Four were commissioned from pitches and one was an assignment. This month, I sent 35 pitches—one was commissioned; one is being considered; eight were rejected, placed elsewhere, or I moved on due to timeliness; and 25 are pending a response.
NEW ARTICLES
My portfolio can be viewed at LolaAnnMendez.com. In June, I had six articles published including my debut in Travel + Leisure, Yoga Journal, and HipLatina. I have upcoming pieces in new-to-me publications including Ultimate Encounters and Gay Cities.

WHERE IN THE WORLD IS LOLA?
I spent much of June in Uruguay with the last two weeks in Europe for personal and work travel. I visited an incredible winery in Bordeaux, then took myself on a little mini Euro summer trip (the heat wave was so intense without A/C) to Luxembourg, Strasbourg, Colmar, Liechtenstein, and Zurich. I then went to a country I’ve wanted to visit my whole life — Scotland! I got to see the highlands and northern islands on a group tour for work before spending a few days in Edinburgh and it was everything I dreamed it would be.
I’ll be based in South America through at least October and am super keen to go on press trips to the Atacama Desert, Bolivia, Mendoza, Buenos Aires, Guyana, Suriname, Nicaragua, Honduras, and the Caribbean while I’m in LATAM.
